The suspension of the civil servants, names undisclosed, was disclosed in Birnin Kebbi by the state Commissioner for Education, Mohammadu Aleiro, in a chat with journalists at the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

Aliero said the decision to suspend the trio was reached after a committee set up by the ministry of education to investigate the matter found them guilty of the allegation.

The commissioner warned that henceforth any teacher in public or private school caught having an illicit affair with a female student would be dismissed and prosecuted.

He advised female students against unholy romance with teachers, adding that they are in school only to learn.
