As the fight between President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi continued unabated, wife of the president, Dame Patience Jonathan is currently in Rivers State orijoreporter can report.
The first lady who hails from the state on Saturday attended the wedding reception of a member of the state House of Assembly, Hon Evans Bapakaye Bipialaka, one of the five lawmakers who are behind the clamour for the removal of Gov. Rotimi Amaechi in the house.
Rivers State government was represented at the occasion by the deputy governor, Engr. Tele Ikiru.
It was gathered that the wedding of Hon. Bipialaka, who used to be Patience Jonathan’s aide, was one of the planned events that would be turned into avenues to mobilize the State House of Assembly members against Governor Amaechi.
Sources said that yesterday night, Dame Jonathan who is staying at a newly-built mansion in Port Harcourt, and is expected to be there for 11 days met with some of the lawmakers in a move to start the plot to hasten the impeachment process.
The new move became necessary as the Presidency believes that Dame Jonathan, being an indigene of the state and also being well grounded in the politics of the state, has all it takes to effect the governor’s removal.
