Twenty Zonal and Heads of sections at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been redeployed to the Police, according to report.
Recall that the EFCC is mired in crisis with the acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu suspended and under investigation by a Presidential panel headed by Justice Ayo Salami.
Twelve of the anti-graft agency directors are equally under suspension in the ongoing reform at the commission.
The latest, The Nation wrote, was that another shake up, has affected twenty Zonal and Heads of sections, and most of whom are rated as “crack investigators” who have worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Metropolitan Police and the National Crime Agency (NCA).
It said, there is massive redeployment of police officers coordinating the EFCC’s affairs, adding it was part of a grand plan to rid the commission of cops in its hierarchy.
“The government has effected another shake up in line with the ongoing overhauling of the system. A generation of detectives is affected including zonal officers and heads of sections,” the paper quoted an unnamed source as saying.
