Around three in a hundred Lagosians are living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), according to the Chairman of Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Hon. Segun Olulade.
Speaking on the floor of the state assembly on Tuesday, and in commemoration of the World Aids Day, Hon. Olulade who revealed that he obtained the statistics from Lagos State AIDS Control Agency(LSACA) said over 470, 435 of the twenty-one million residents of the state are living with HIV, averaging three out a hundred.
He urged the House to support people living with Aids.
Hon. Olulade said: “There is the need to show support to those living with AIDS; today gives us the opportunity to identify with the people living with the disease. It is a serious issue that cannot be ignored or treated with levity.”
