The life of a 55 years old pastor’s wife was cut short in Akure by a 25-year old University drop- out after she refused being raped.
It was gathered that the suspect identified as Jerry and now on the run visited the house of the pastor and his wife, Mrs. Eunice Ajayi at Peace-land Road,along the Expressway in Akure metropolis and attempted to rape the latter.
But the woman was said to have disallowed Jerry to rape her, following which the suspect allegedly brought out a machete and started attacking her .
The suspected killer who was rusticated from two institutions in the state for being a member of a secret cult was said to have macheted his victim, inflicted many cuts and injuries on her.
Her cry for help drew the attention of her husband, Pastor Ajayi whose attempt to rescue his wife was met with violent resistance from the assailant.
It was further gathered that Pastor Ajayi is presently hospitalized.
After attacking both the wife and the husband the suspect fled while attempt by some students residing in the area to apprehend him failed.
The wife of the pastor was said to have died before help could come neighbours who rushed to the scene following the shout and cries from the couple.
Contacted the Police image maker Wole Ogodo said that the suspect is still on the run and that he would soon be tracked down and prosecuted.
