Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has reacted to rumour of his death from complications arising from coronavirus.
Ajimobi, who is battling the pandemic and hospitalised at First Cardiology Consultants Hospital, Lagos for COVID-19 is reportedly to be in critical condition.
Rumours of his death spread like wildfire on Thursday evening even as is named acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, an appointment that is dogged by controversy.
His media aide, Bolaji Tunji, and daughter-in-law, daughter of Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, Fatimah, have both denounced the claim with the former saying in a statement: “My attention has been drawn to the rumours circulating on the social media about my principal, kindly disregard. We however continue to pray for him. Thank you all for the show of concern.”
The ex-governor himself as equally dismissed the rumour via his official twitter handle, @AAAjimobi.
He wrote: “I am not dead. Stop this rumour mongering. Ajimobi is very much alive. The Constituted Authority is here for a lot more time. I will beat corona and be back on my feet soon.”
