Abuja Bank Robbery: Banker narrates how he planned it

Larry Ehizo

Larry Ehizo, the customer care officer with First Bank branch enmeshed in a foiled robbery operation with five others at the Mpape branch in Abuja where he works has come out clean on his roles.

Larry had said he was conscripted into the scheme to rob the bank last Saturday by Ernest Ewim under duress claiming the latter threatening to kill him and his girlfriend if he refused.

Ernest, who was on the run on apprehension, threw lights on the banker’s roles claiming he (Larry) acted on his own accord and even he was the architect of the failed operation.

This has made Larry to recant his earlier statement and own up to the crime, according to reports.

“Everything Ewim said is true; he didn’t threaten me. I willingly collected his number and I called him and he said I should give him a few days.

“When I called him, I simply told him how they would go in, where they would see the riot policeman guarding the bank and how to disconnect the CCTV. On Friday night during our meeting, we had issues with getting a driver,” Larry was quoted to have said.
