The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to probe the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, over his alleged links to the Al-Qaeda and Taliban terror groups.
Pantami is in the eye of the storm over his past comments supporting the activities of the terrorist groups. The minister, a cleric, in past sermons he delivered was supportive of the cause of Al-Qaeda and Taliban, statements which have come to bite him with growing calls for his sack despite renouncing it.
In a statement on Sunday, PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the ideal thing is for the DSS to invite for questioning.
The party raised concern alleging that Pantami as Communication Minister on whose watch the National Identification Number (NIN) registration was done may have compromised the exercise allegedly by facilitating registration of terrorists from other countries as Nigerian citizens.
It therefore urged the intelligence agency to investigate him.
