The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Iyaganku division, Ibadan, Alex Gwazarzah, is in the news over allegation that he assaulted a tailor, Lukman Adeniyi, and went to sue him for damaging his cloths.
The incident happened in the Oyo State capital, according to Punchng.com.
The report said trouble started following claim by the DPO that the tailor damaged some cloths worth N181,000 he gave him to sew.
Gwazarzah accused Adeniyi of giving the cloths to his apprentice to sew and damaged them in the process. Consequently the former allegedly slapped the latter when he went to deliver the job and later detained him in police custody.
Subsequently the cop sued his victim and got him arraigned at Court 8, Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, in a case with suit number MI/881AdeC/2020.
“The DPO, after slapping me, still collected all the 12 materials without paying the N60,000 agreed on.
“On Saturday, November 1, the DPO told me to come for the money only for him to detain me,” the paper quoted Adeniyi as saying.
