Hirse, one-time Nigeria’s ambassador to Namibia, President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Malam Abba Kyari and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, were all at Daura’s residence when the gunmen shot their way into the house, and abducted Hirse at gunpoint.

Report says the 67-year-old had gone to Daura’s house to commiserate with his host on the death of his father-in-law, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki, the 18thSultan of Sokoto.

It was said that Ambassador Hirse’s kidnappers shot him in the leg before they took him away.
