Bamidele has been battling gunshot injuries with five others inflicted by a policeman on an illegal duty who fired gunshots at a reception rally organised for the All Progressives Congress candidate for the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, at the party’s secretariat in Ado Ekiti on June 1.
The former Lagos commissioner was first treated at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, and later flown to Lagos in an air ambulance, and was on admission at Euracare Multi-Specialists Hospital in Victoria Island.
He was flown in a private jet belonging to a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, on Friday night for further treatment, Punch reported in an update on Bamidele’s condition.
“He (Bamidele) is fully stabilised, so there is no cause for alarm. He only went abroad for a post-surgery management and to get prepared for the task ahead. He actually walked into the plane,” his media aide, Ahmed Salami, told the paper.
