An attempt by a crippled Boko Haram member to bomb Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos yesterday was foiled by security operatives.
The suspect (pictured with security operatives) was found with explosive, and was caught while trying to detonate it at the Centrex unit of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), at the international wing of the airport.
It was gathered that the cripple and suspected Boko Haram member was a beggar, and crept into the area under the cover of begging for alms.
However, his bulging belly drew the suspicion of a security officer who kept his eagle eye on him, and moved swiftly towards him when he attempted to press an object hid under his clothe.
The airport police command was promptly alerted, and he was handed over to them, before he was moved to the Beesam police station, Airport command, where he is currently undergoing interrogation.
