Ex-governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has hurled insult at Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over the ex-president’s failure to honour the acclaimed winner of June 12, 1993 election, late MKO Abiola while he held the reins of power.
Obasanjo and Fayose are known to be at loggerheads. The former drew the ex-governor’s criticism following the honouring of late Abiola by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fayose in a tweet he posted via his official twitter account, (Gov@Ayo Fayose), hailed the incumbent president for the posthumous honours he bestowed on the deceased including renaming the National Stadium Abuja after him just as he hit out at Obasanjo for his failure to do same while he was president.
The tweet: “Honouring MKO Abiola by Buhari is to Obasanjo’s shame. It remains a sore point of his political history that because of ego, Obasanjo who’s the greatest beneficiary of the June 12, 1993 struggle, failed to honour his kinsman, MKO Abiola. So, I commend President Buhari.”
