Tarila Okah, daughter of Charles Okah, former leader of the militant group Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (Mend), accused of being behind the 2010 twin car bombings in Abuja, has gotten her father’s blessing to marry her Canadian fiance, Domeno Morrone, in prison.

Tarila is one of Charles’ six children from his first wife, who bore him three children. Her mother and her incarcerated father parted ways long ago.

Tarila has her first and secondary degrees in Canadian university and took up residence in the country. She met her fiance, Domeno Morrone online about a year ago, and their wedding is scheduled for August 6, 2016.

The two lovebirds are currently in Nigeria and were at Kuje Prison to get Charles’ blessing, which he granted.

Domeno was quoted by The Nation as saying about having a suspected terrorist as father-in-law: “I don’t see anything about it because I know her(Tarila) a lot. It wasn’t a concern. I did not ask her what your parent situation is. Where is your father? Where is your mother? Has your brother ever been in any trouble? She is a person I love and a person I was going to commit my life to, and I am lucky we are going to share it together and go through the experiences together.”
