Veteran Nollywood actor, Chief Olusegun Akinremi, better known by his stage name, Chief Kanran, has told of troubles he is mired in.
Chief Kanran went into it all on a Yoruba radio talk-show hosted by Kola Olootu on Lagelu FM 96.7, Ibadan.
The thespian narrated that his difficulties started seven years ago when his wife died of breast cancer and lost his house, film equipment and other belongings to a fire incident.
He added that he sold four cars he was left with to feed himself and has taken up residence in a church owing to his inability to afford house rent.
“At the moment, for over a year and half, I have been sleeping in the church,” he said amid tears and plea for help.
However, days after the interview video went viral, it seems the actor is on the way to enjoy a new lease of life as philanthropists are rallying support to him in cash.
In the latest video of him circulating online, Chief Kanran is seen expressing gratitude.
