A 44-year-old woman who has been married for quite some years but is childless has fled with a newborn baby that was delivered at a private hospital she was admitted for malaria in Ugbolu Area of Delta State.

The suspect identified as Patience Nnaemka was said to have been married for about 10 years but has not been fortunate to have a child. Several attempts made by her, including seeking help from traditional doctors were all futile.

Patience’s husband and the security man guarding the hospital have both been arrested while the police are hot on the trail of the abductor.

Police Public Relations Officer in Delta state, DSP Celestina Kalu (pictured), who confirmed the arrest of the ward orderly and the husband of the suspect, disclosed that the woman was admitted into the private hospital for malaria sickness, adding that while she was on admission, the mother of the baby had just put to bed and after two days, pleaded with her to look after the baby while she went across to buy some of the baby things; a situation she allegedly took advantage of and disappeared with the baby.

When the mother returned, DSP Kalu, said that she raised the alarm on the whereabouts of the woman and the baby, but it didn’t yield any fruit and she immediately reported the matter to the police who in turn beamed their searchlight on her whereabouts.
