Comedienne Princess’ Marriage Crashes 7 Months After Wedding

The seven months old marriage between ace comedienne Oluwadamilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess and her estranged hubby, Adeshola Jeremiah has collapsed.

Princess confirmed the break-up at Stand Up Nigeria, a comedy show which took place yesterday at Muson Centre. Speaking on stage, Princess said her marriage collapsed “due to irreconcilable differences.”

Princess got married to Adeshola Jeremiah on the 8th of May, 2013.

It was learnt that the marriage had not been a bed of roses as both parties had been having incessant fights, which necessitated family and friends intervening on several occasions.

Princess, a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University had earlier confirmed the split to an online entertainment site.

She also confirmed the story to newsmen in a telephone interview.

Princess said, “It is true, my marriage has ended. We got married in May. We tried to work it out but we couldn’t.

“It happened a while ago. It is not easy for a marriage to end. All the excitement of marriage has passed. We wanted to keep it out of the public for a while.”

She continued “People have been calling me since. I opened up about this at an event yesterday. It wasn’t a case of domestic abuse. We just had irreconcilable differences. Nobody wants her marriage to crash. I am the one in the spotlight, I didn’t think it was a news I should broadcast. But eventually, I had to open up. God knows best, He would strengthen me. It is better to try than not to try at all.

“Now, I even use it as a joke. People who call me should also tell me they have a job for me and not to call me and cry and ask how it happened.”
