Dangote’s HRM killed because he didn’t pay full ransom, killers explain

Kidnappers and killers of Late Istifanus Bello Gurama, Human resources manager of Dangote Group, told investigators that they killed their victim because the money he paid them was less than what they agreed on.

The kidnappers had abducted four expatriates and a Nigerian working with Dangote Group, and had demanded N100m ransom. In the ensuing negotiation, the ransom was negotiated to N10m.

However, while the kidnappers were expecting N10m from Late Gurama who brought the ransom to them at Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State, the deceased came with N5.6m.

This it was said angered the kidnappers.

“They told him to call his office to bring the balance of N4.4m and was given three days ultimatum. But the deceased refused to do their bidding and after the ultimatum expired their leader, Alti shot him in the head,” sources said.
