The circumstances surrounding his death has been a subject of controversy with claim that he committed suicide and counterclaim bordering on accidental charge.

A socialite and Polo buff, late Dapo, according to Street Journal, the online tabloid that broke the news of his death, was involved in a serious power bike accident some years back.

The publication indicated that his failed marriage to his estranged wife, Patricia was in part responsible for his death.

It wrote: “His marital woes were a huge blow to him especially because of the love he shared with his wife, Patricia. And much as he tried to put up a brave face, his marriage problems were too hard for him to handle as he couldn’t bear to lose his loving wife.”
