The Delta State Deputy president of the Nigeria Union of local government Employees (names with held) and five others are currently cooling their heels in police net at the state CID following their involvement in the murder of the secretary of a PDP ward and a councillorship aspirant, Tony Osubor, in Issele uku, the administrative headquarters of Aniocha North local government Area of the state.

Reports said that Osubor was allegedly  murdered in cold blood on Saturday may17 2014 at a nearby bush, a few metres away from chambers guest house and the office of the Independent National electoral commission {INEC}.

It was reliably gathered that a minor fracas between the  Osubor and his assailant ensued at the guest where Osubor came with a lady.

The fracas later took a dangerous dimension leading to Osubor running into the bush with said suspect and his friends trailing him into the bush where he ran to take cover and was allegedly stabbed on the throat with a jack knife and bled to death.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the police public Relations officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu said that the suspects confessed to have committed the crime.

Five other suspects arrested in the case, DSP Kalu disclosed include Collins Ogugua, Peter Nwafe, and three females adding that on completion of investigation the suspects would be charged to court.

A source who narrated the incident to our correspondent, said three of the victim’s assailants trailed him into the bush between the INEC office and the chambers guest house where he was allegedly stabbed to death.

It was further gathered that people of Olona community were sad about the involvement of some persons whom they said were close to the victim while alive and demanded for justice to prevail in the case.
