A former Bauchi State commissioner, Mohammed Damina, has reportedly killed his friend, Adamu Babanta, for confronting him for making a pass at his daughter, Khadijat Babanta.
The incident, according to Daily Trust, happened in Bauchi and led to protest by a group of residents.
The protest came following rumour that Mohammed who was arrested had been released.
The report said, Khadijate told her father that the former Commissioner, a 68-year-old, wooed her and at a Petrol Station waiting for her.
The deceased in anger proceeded there, and met his friend in his car.
In the ensuing altercation, the publication said, Mohammed hit Babanta with his car leading to the victim’s death. Consequently, the alleged killer was arrested, while rumour of his release elicited protest by some residents.
“One Khadijah Adamu Babanta, was enticed by one man, Mohammed Damina, Galadiman Dass, 68 years old resident of Yelwa. When Galadima enticed her, she told her father about it, then she told the father that the said man was waiting for her at the Total filling station.
“Her father followed her behind to the place. On reaching there, the father, now deceased, confronted Galadima through the passenger side of his car, as they were discussing, Galadima zoomed off the vehicle while the deceased was still hanging on to the car door to a point he fell and was rushed to ATBUTH for medical attention but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor,” the paper quoted the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili as saying.
