Ex-Eagles defender, Coach Kelechi Emeteole, battles throat cancer

Former Green Eagles defender, Coach Kelechi Emeteole has been diagnosed with throat cancer, it was revealed last night.

The former footballer turned coach is one-time coach of Heartland, Rangers and Elkanemi, and during his playing days he captained the Nazi Millionaires(Heartland).

Fondly called Caterpillar, a nickname given to him because he was a hard tackler as a defender those days, sources close to him said, he is in need of N2m to undergo surgery.

“About three clubs he used to coach are owing him salary arrears, and he has written them demanding for his money several times long before his present predicament but he is yet to be paid.

“And now, he needs his money badly,” sources said.

According to Heathline, throat cancer is relatively an uncommon cancer when compared to other cancers. It refers to cancer of the voice box, the vocal cords, and other parts of the throat, such as the tonsils and oropharynx.
