Former Super Eagles’ defender Yisa Sofoluwe has died at aged, 53.
Sofoluwe passed away on Tuesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) where he was on admission since last Thursday for having mild cerebral atrophy.
His passage was made known by another ex-International, Waidi Akanni in an interview with Sporting Life saying “Sofoluwe didn’t make it. We tried our best to save his life but unfortunately he has gone to be with the Lord.”
The deceased played 40 times for the Eagles mostly as left-back despite that his strong foot was his right leg. He was a member of the Eagles squads which reached the final of the 1984 and 1988 AFCON tournaments.
