Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi said all the governors are mulling over dialoguing with bandits.

Fayemi made this known in his capacity as Chairman, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, on Tuesday when he led some of his colleagues on a solidarity visit to their Niger State counterpart, Sani Bello, in Minna over the abduction of 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara last Wednesday.

The Ekiti governor indicated that the governors may resort to hold talks with the bandits in order to find a lasting solution to the problem of insurgency besetting the country.

“We also need to explore other avenues side by side with whatever the security institutions are doing if that means engaging in dialogue  We may not have a choice. We may have to do that, anything to help us to deal with this immediate crisis and then to begin to address on a much more longer time basis, the root causes of this social dislocation responsible for what we are witnessing, all around us,” he said.

In the delegation are; Govs Simon Lalong, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Abdullahi Sule and Aminu Tambuwal.
