Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has come under fire for predicting that All Progressives Congress’ Presidential Candidate Muhammadu Buhari will die in office if he emerged the winner of the February 14 election.
In a front page advert in Punch yesterday(displayed above) and sponsored by Fayose, the governor warned Nigerians against voting for the 72-year-old retired general, drawing parallel between the APC’s presidential candidate and late Murtala Muhammed, General Sanni Abacha as well as Umaru Yar’Adua who like Buhari were from North-west and died in office.
Irked by Fayose’s prediction, Ovation Publisher, Dele Momodu tweeting on the twitter handle @DeleMomodu said “This Fayose ad has done monumental damage to the Jonathan campaign; it is the last straw to PDP’s campaign of calumny against BUHARI.”
Blossom Nnodim tweeting on the handle @blossomnnodim blamed Punch for carrying the advert.
He said, “Fayose’s utterances are regrettable. The platform that showcased same are equally to blame.”
Toyan Adeniji-Adele tweeted “I kinda suspect that Fayose is deliberately trying to incite violence @ThisIsBuhari’s supporters must ignore these gimmicks”
