Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has launched an all-out war against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to discredit the anti-graft agency’s claims that he partook in the looting of $15bn arms money by officials of government, and their families and friends, a source close to him said.
“It’s so transparent. He’s doing all he can to discredit EFCC by bringing Zenith Bank into the matter,” the friend told OrijoReporter on the condition of anonymity after Fayose said the N1.2bn EFCC alleged was transferred to his account from the looted $15bn meant for the procurement of ammunition in the onslaught against Boko Haram, was a donation he received from the bank to fund his election.
“It’s shocking that he would do this, when there are actual documentary evidence including photos and video to prove that the money emanated from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (retd),” the source said.
