FCMB Appoints 2 New Non-Executive Directors to Its Board

The Board of Directors of FCMB Group Plc has announced the appointment of Professor Oluwatoyin Ashiru and Dr. (Engr) Gregory Omosigho Ero as Non-Executive Directors effective immediately.

Professor Oluwatoyin Ashiru is an accomplished Materials and Metallurgical Engineer with over 30 years of comprehensive professional experience in academia, entrepreneurship, management engineering, technologies invention, and consulting for the enhancement of productivity in major industries across the world.  Ashiru who is also highly skilled on strategic planning, budget controls and problem solving with extensive international experience in the UK, USA, Canada, the Far East and Asia,  has served on Joint Venture and Consortium Executive Committees, and has participated directly in claims negotiations and settlement agreements in excess of US$100 million.

His wealth of experience also includes membership on several Governing Boards responsible for strategic and operational decisions. He has served worldwide on various governmental multi-disciplinary task forces and technical committees.

Professor Ashiru holds the USA, British, European, Brazilian, and other international patents for products and systems that he invented. He is also a recipient of several merit awards both locally and internationally.

Similarly, Dr. Gregory Omosigho Ero, a Petroleum Engineer, is a graduate of the University of Ibadan and Imperial College, London. He also studied in Ivy League colleges including University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, University of Columbia, New York and the Institute of Management Development, Lausanne Switzerland.

He began his career as a Petroleum Engineer in the Lagos Office of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, where he was later posted to Warri, Delta State as Head, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources. He spent much of his career in the Public Service, where he served in many capacities spanning three decades in the petroleum industry at NNPC. He also served on the Boards of many Federal Government Parastatals.

Dr. Ero has been widely recognised for his sterling professional qualities, one of which was from the former US Secretary of State, George Schultz, for his outstanding work as Managing Director of NETCO, an NNPC Joint Venture with Bechtel of the United States. He was equally honoured by the Nigerian Petroleum Golden Jubilee Board in recognition of his excellent leadership qualities, meritorious service and contributions to the development of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.

Dr.  Gregory Ero, who is the current Chairman/CEO of Arkleen Oil, as well as the Chairman, Cardinal Drilling Company Limited, is a fellow of many professional bodies including the Fellowship of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering; Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers; Hon Fellow, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and Fellow, Institute of Directors of Great Britain.
