Femi Kuti wants celebrities to visit Borno’s war torn towns

Afrobeat star, Femi Kuti has called on celebrities across the country to visit Borno’s war torn towns to see what their ‘fans’ are going through.

Femi made this call in Maiduguri on Monday after he went on a visit with Thomson Reuters Foundation, an International Rescue Committee (IRC), to local communities hosting the Internally displaced persons and a health clinic.OrijoReporter.com, Femi Kuti's visit to Borno

“I hope more celebrities will visit and engage with their fans. Then more people will see what is going on, share it on social media, and put pressure on the government to do more.

“It is heartening to see so many displaced people welcomed into the homes of local familie and community elders offering to give up land to displaced persons for farming,

“There are still so many young people who are displaced, who have lost their parents, who cannot go home yet. They cannot party, and it is them we must worry about the most,” the 54-year-old said.
