Popular actress Funke Akindele, TV/Radio Presenter Ambros Somide and Juju Music icon Shina Peters have been carefully selected for the excellent value they added to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
The trio will be the first to be honoured by Limelight Productions, the producers of Idan Irawo, a Yoruba programme that focuses on stars and celebrities on Africa Magic channel of DSTV and Metronewsonline, an online news service provider, and Prince of Anthony Hotel, three firms that have formed an alliance to regularly honour top entertainment practitioners in the country.
As you are reading this, all hands are on deck to host the first of the monthly celebration tagged ‘Star Magic Award’, at Prince of Anthony Suites located at 27,Oyedele Ogunniyi Street, Anthony Village Lagos.
The doors of Prince of Anthony Suites will be thrown open tomorrow to welcome these personalities. According to Femi Davies, spokesperson for the event, “these stars are going to be honoured and celebrated for their immense contributions to the development of entertainment in Nigeria. Who will say, Sir Shina Peters, Funke Akindele and Ambrose Somide have not contributed immensely to the growth of the industry? They have brought joy to so many households home and abroad, so therefore, honour should be given to those who deserve it.”
Magic Star Nite, which has Chief Mrs. Toyin Kolade, the CEO of Fisolak Global Resources as Mother of the Day and Hon. Apostle Toba Oke, Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Chairman as Special Guest of Honour, will feature musical presentation and comedy from renowned entertainers.
Mnet, according to the organisers has promised to give special gifts to the awardees in appreciating their talents and contribution towards the growth of the industry. Media houses, top politicians, business tycoons have signified their interests to grace the event which will kick off from 7pm.
