A private security officer in the Kaduna State Government House has been arrested on suspicion of stealing.

The officer whose name was wrapped in secrecy was caught stealing clothes in Governor Mukhtar Ramalan’s residence reports.

It was said that the suspect has been in government house (Sir, Kashim Ibrahim House) since 2007, when he was posted there as undercover agent. He was later redeployed in 2010 but was reposted back in 2013.

A security source in Kaduna said the officer had access to every room and office including places where people have limited access such as the governor’s residence.

The source said the officer was caught stealing clothes in the governor’s residence.

“He was caught stealing governor’s clothes. There were complaints of missing items in the house before the incident and all the officials in the house were put under surveillance.

“The officer is in detention and an official inquiry has been launched.”
Police spokesman in Kaduna Deputy Superintendent Zubairu Abubakar confirmed the incident but said the suspect was not a policeman. He neither disclosed the identity of the suspect nor the agent he is working with.
