Gumi reveals Obasanjo’s role in College students’ release

It has emerged that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was involved in the release of the remaining abducted students of federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Kaduna.

Recall that gunmen abducted 39 students in the school on March 11 and previously released 10 of them.

The remaining 29 were freed on Wednesday after nearly two months in the kidnappers’ den with Sheik Ahmed Gumi and Obasanjo having inputs in the development.

Gumi gave hint of Obasanjo’s role in an interview with newsmen saying they both played a mediatory role in the release of the abductees, and adding that the bandits only had issues with government and not their victims.

Similarly, during a visit to the Islamic scholar, the Forestry College Parents’ Forum Chairman and the Secretary, Mallam Usman Abdullahi and Friday Sanni, respectively, urged him to extend their appreciation to the former president.
