Gunmen attack Zaria Leprosy Centre, kidnap 7

Seven persons on Sunday morning became the latest victims in the gale of abduction bedeviling Nigeria as gunmen stormed National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Training Centre in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The incident occurred at 12:30am with the gunmen abducting five staff and two nursing mothers at the Centre’s staff quarter.

Report said in a quest to preclude police from foiling the dastardly operation, the gunmen first attacked Saye Divisional Police Headquarters firing gunshots and riddled the division’s operational Hilux van with bullets and damaging it.

It was gathered that at the gunmen focused especially on the the residence of the principal of the Training Centre but made unsuccessful attempt to abduct him.
