A woman who is a hairdresser by day but an arms dealer at night has been arrested in Lagos State.

The 34-year-old suspect, Sarah Emmanuel (pictured) is a mother-of-two and lives around Sango-Ota, an Ogun State suburb. During the day, she openly works as a hairdresser and has a shop in Ota but undercover sells guns to daredevil armed robbers.

Her arrest by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS Ikeja came after one of her armed robber customers was apprehended during operations and implicated her.
Sarah was paraded last week at Lagos State Police Command before newsmen but underplayed her involvement.

She said, “I live in Sango Otta, I have two children; the first is 10years old while the other is six. I am a trained hairdresser.

“I was arrested because my friend Modinat escaped. We have been friends for six years. “She asked me to accompany her to Idiroko where she told me of her plan to purchase a gun for one Ismaila, her armed robber lover from whom she collected N25, 000. I only accompanied her to Ifonyin once. “I am widow and my husband a border town between Nigeria and Benin Republic where we bought the gun for N15, 000.

‘’It was after Ismaila’s arrest by operatives of SARS that he confessed that he bought the guns from Modinat and I.

‘’When the officers went to arrest her she escaped and I was arrested instead. I only accompanied her to Ifonyin once.

‘’I am a widow and my husband, who was an armed robber was killed by police, we were married for ten years but I didn’t know he was an armed robber before he was killed.

‘’My husband was actually killed two years ago during a robbery operation at Ilasa. Before I was arrested I was involved in street trading. ‘’If the police release me I will assist them to arrest my friend Modinat.”
