The Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has commended Muslims for the successful completion of the Ramadan Fasting while advising Nigerians to be vigilant and security conscious in view of the attack by Boko Haram.
Urging Muslims faithful to ensure that they do not neglect the virtues they displayed and enjoy during the month of Ramadhan because the fasting period is over, the speaker offered prayer to God to reward the sacrifice made during the period, and advised Nigerians to continue to display the spirit of love.
He said, “I pray to Almighty Allah to assist us in reaping the full reward from the sacrifice we made during the period.
“We should and must continue to display the virtues we enjoy during the fasting period hence there is need for us to continue to share love and promote peace. Yes, Ramadhan has come and gone but our good deeds must not be neglected or forgotten.”
Rt. Hon. Obasa stated further that with increasing security challenges facing the country, now is the time for Nigerians to come together, put all hands on deck and ensure that the devilish activities of the terrorist group, Boko Haram is checked.
“Government at all levels is trying its best to ensure that the activities of this devilish group are curtailed. On our part, what is require of us to come together, share love among ourselves and promote lasting peace irrespective of our religious affiliation; our main goal should be to put a stop to insurgency.
“The insurgent group has devised a new strategy of using innocent to plant bombs and explosives at their target areas, hence the onus lies on us to remain vigilante, monitor our children and educate them not to take any parcel or box from any stranger even if they are offered money,” Hon. Mudashiru Obasa enjoined.
