A popular hotelier in Sapele, Delta State, Deacon Emekeme Joseph popularly known as Samikolo has reportedly met his death at the hands of his sons.
Samikolo, owner of Covenant Suites, died in consequence of the beating he received from his two sons for dating a lady and refused to do away with the intimacy after they reported him to their United States-based mother, report in general circulation said.
The lady in question is a staff member in the deceased’s hotel, and the family crisis arising from the liaison with her boss got to a head last week as his sons beat him up for not heeding to the family’s charge.
It reportedly culminated in his hospitalization and arrest of his attackers, both said to have graduated from a private university with their mother flying down to the country to secure her sons’ release and at her instance her husband was discharged.
The latter, it was said, died in the week from injuries he sustained from the assault.
