Report has emerged that Speaker of the House of Representatives. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, forced erstwhile acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Victor Giadom to leave the party’s NEC meeting held at the State House, in Abuja on Thursday.
At the meeting presided over President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC National Working Committee, NWC, was dissolved and a caretaker committee headed by Yobe State governor, Mai Bunu took over the saddle.
A drama reportedly ensued leading up to the decisions, which were said to be premeditated by opposition to the disgraced Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomohle’s reign and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s hold on the dissolved NWC.
Gbajabiamila, an ally of Tinubu and by extension Oshiomhole, according to The Nation, asked Giadom to leave the meeting immediately after NWC dissolution, arguing that since the committee which he belonged to was no more, his right to attend the NEC meeting has been stripped.
“After the dissolution, Gaidom attempted to speak, but sources at meeting said House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, objected, saying that he had ceased to be a NEC member, owing to the NWC dissolution.
“The point of order was sustained and Giadom left the hall,” the paper wrote.
