Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, has blamed the murder of Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi on the twin problems of insecurity and decay infrastructure under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Oba Adeusi was murdered in cold blood by gunmen, who abducted him while returning to his domain from Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The killing of the first class traditional ruler was pinned on the prevailing insecurity and decaying infrastructure by Afenifere in a statement its National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin released.
Entitled, ‘Olufon’s murder and total insecurity’, called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to “get up and secure Nigeria,” Afenifere alleged bad road enabled the deceased monarch’s killers to carry out the heinous act.
It reads in part, “The total collapse of single policing to keep Nigeria safe is the urgent need to allow multi-level policing now. The total collapse of infrastructure in Nigeria reflected in the report that the Oba was abducted by the killers as the vehicle had to slow down in a bad portion of the road.
“Why are we constructing a road to Niger Republic when our own roads are literally death- traps?”
