The £10, 000 share of Osun United FC in Odion Ighalo’s transfer fee from Chinese side, Shanghai Shenhua to Manchester United is causing ripples in the state.
Clubs involved in players’ development are entitled to five percent of their transfer fees, according to FIFA’s rule.
Osun United benefited handsomely in the January loan transfer fee Manchester United paid Shenhua to secure the service of Ighalo in the form of £10, 000 windfall.
However, the money is said to have developed wings with the State House of Assembly launching investigation into its whereabouts, according to Punchng.com.
“When we got the information, we invited all the parties. After a thorough investigation into the issue, I assure you, we will make our findings public. We will still invite them this week,” Chairman of the state House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Adrullahi Adegbile, told the paper.
