Super Eagles number one goalkeeper Carl Ikeme said he has overcome the worst stage of his ailment.
“After a year of intense chemotherapy I would like to share that I am in complete REMISSION. I still have hurdles to pass to be cured, but hopefully I can move on with some normality! I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past year. Thank you” he said in a social media post.
Ikeme was diagnosed of Leukemia just few matches left to the final qualification for the World cup and subsequently was ruled out of both club and national assignments to begin treatment.
Officials of the Nigeria football Federation (NFF) paid him a visit just before heading to the World cup in Russia even as he was named and unregistered player in the final 23 man list released by Coach Gernot Rohr.
