All the 27 local government areas of Imo State will allocate land to 1,545 corps members deployed to the state.
The allocation followed a directive Gov. Rochas Okorochas gave to them at the opening of orientation for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ corps members posted to the state at Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre council on Monday.
This, according to Deputy Governor Eze Madumere who represented Gov. Okorochas is to enhance agricultural production and encourage farming among the corps members.
Madumere reiterated that the state government is committed to federal government’s efforts to tackle the nation`s problem of food insufficiency.
He urged the corps members to pay serious attention to all programmes lined up for them during the orientation.
1,545 corps members comprising 855 males and 690 females were posted to Imo.
