INEC withdraws 25 Certificates-of-Return


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has withdrawn Certificates-of-Return it earlier issued to twenty five candidates following court orders.

The Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr Festus Okoye, disclosed this on Monday at a `Forum on Media Coverage of 2019 General Elections’ in Enugu on Monday.

Okoye said the affected candidates include twenty candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC), two People Democratic Party (PDP) members while the other three were withdrawn from both parties and given to other political parties.

According him, “Before we left INEC national headquarters on Friday; the commission has withdrawn 25 certificates-of-return from the first owners to their new owners following court orders to do that.”
