This evening, governors of all the five states in south east after a meeting in Enugu with the army authorities issued an order declaring the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, an unlawful organisation.
And Obasanjo’s advice was contained in an interview the 80-year-old granted News Week after IPOB’s proscription wherein he hinted of his readiness to meet Kanu, 49, despite the latter calling him an “evil man” in the past.
The former President said, “I don’t see anything wrong in Buhari meeting with Kanu. I would not object to that; if anything, I would encourage it.
“I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his age, (and ask) ‘What are your worries?’ Not only from the South-East but from all parts of Nigeria.”
