One Enoch Yohanna has been accused of killing his girlfriend, Ruth Amos, after he allegedly caught her cheating on him.
The incident happened at the Sabon Kaura area of Bauchi metropolis, according to the State Police Command via a statement its Spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili released.
In it, the police said that its men during patrol in the early hours of Friday found Ruth by the roadside dead with blood gushing out of her mouth and head.
Upon investigation, it said it discovered Enoch whom they have two children together was responsible for her death.
According to the account, the suspect had traced his victim to where she had allegedly gone to have a date with another man and when she came out of the place, an argument ensued between them during which he hit her head on the ground leading to her death.
The statement partly reads: “On 07/10/2021 at about 0445hrs a Joint patrol team in collaboration with the Peace and security committee while on visibility patrol sighted a young lady laying in a pool of blood with wounds on her head and blood gushing from her mouth at Sabon Kaura, the team evacuated the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi, where medical doctor certified her dead.
“During the course of investigation, one Hajara Amos aged 56yrs of Bayara village was identified as the deceased mother and also identified the deceased as Ruth Amos aged 28yrs of the same address.”
