150 persons kidnapped over arrest of bandit’s father

The arrest of the father of Kachalla Turji, a notorious banditry gang leader in the Northwest has culminated in the abduction of at least 150 persons across villages in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Report swirling around said Turji met with renowned Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmed Gumi and demanded that his father, who is in the custody of the police should be released to celebrate Eid-Kabir festival with his family or else he would wreak havoc.

He is making good on his threat with his gang on an abduction spree in many villages in Zamfara including, Kurya, Keta, Kware, Badarawa, Marisuwa and Maberaya.

Several commuters have also fallen victims following their kidnap along Gusau-Sokoto Road.

During the February meeting with Gumi in Makkai forest, Turji had said neither him nor his men were afraid of death.
