Wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Naomi Adeyeye Ogunwusi has adopted newly-born baby of a supposedly EndSARs protester, Kemisola Ogunniyi, who delivered the newborn in prison.
Kemisola is charged alongside three others with vandalizing a property belonging to All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akure in the aftermath of the protest against police brutality and was in detention at Nigeria Correctional Service Centre in Akure where she put to bed last week Wednesday.
Consequently, she was granted temporarily bail to attend her baby’s christening on Wednesday held at Vera Christian Assembly.
In attendance at the naming ceremony was Olori Ogunwusi who declared her interest in being the baby’s godmother to no objection saying “When I heard the news, I was touched to hear that the lady gave birth in the prison custody. That was why I am here today. The baby is a special boy. I will stay with the family. Kemisola should see me as her mother, her sister and her friend.”
The Indigenous People of Biafra has called on Christians to support agitation for secession by separatists of Southeast and Southwest descent.
