Indications have emerged that the leadership of All Progressive Congress in Lagos State may have settled for former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state, Olasupo Sasore (SAN) as the party’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming election.
Olasupo Sasore was Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General during the first four years of Fashola’s administration between 2007 and 2011.
The former commissioner, an experienced lawyer collected his nomination and expression of interest forms from the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at ACME Road, Ogba several weeks back.
Investigation revealed that Sasore’s ambition was helped by the public declaration of the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he is not throwing his weight behind any aspirant, and that all aspirants will go through a level playing ground at the primary to pick the party’s candidate.
Further investigation revealed that Sasore earned the supports of APC leaders in the state because he met all the requirements for the coveted job in 2015.
“On the issue of religion, he is a committed Christian; academically, he is very sound, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for that matter; and he is a complete Lagosian from the popular Sasore family of Iduntafa in Lagos Island,” sources told this medium.
