Lagos public school candidates yet to get WASSCE results

West African Examinations Council (WAEC) reportedly has not released results of SS3 pupils of Lagos State public schools two weeks after releasing it nationwide.

The Lagos State government pays the WASSCE fees for SS3 pupils of its public schools

The withholding of the result, according to The Nation, was owing to the state government’s failure to pay the examination fees of the candidates to the examinational body.

“When I checked online, I saw ‘not yet released’ after typing in my niece’s details.  She told me they said the result would be released next month,” one Mrs. Kehinde Obasola was quoted by the paper.

The publication said its investigation revealed that the withholding of the result was on account of non-completion of the payment of the examination fees by the state government.
