Last Thursday residents of Onimaba at Igando in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State woke to find letters littered their streets.

In the letters ( a copy pictured), which were about 20 copies and purportedly written by armed robbers and addressed to them, the residents were told by men of the underworld to prepare for attack. The criminals enjoined the residents to stock their houses with festive gifts in order to avoid untimely death.

The scary letter reads, “Be prepared, be prepared, be prepared. Our dues must be paid this festive season. Nobody can stop us as we can strike at any time. Only enough money can save your life.

“To be forewarned is to be fore-harmed. We have warned you in this area, and if you have ears, you ought to hear.”

The letter prompted the Onimaba Community Development Association, CDA, to report the ‘hints’ of the looming attack to the police at the Igando Police Division.
