Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has come under attack from the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The censure followed Mohammed’s support for call to grant amnesty to Fulani bandits.
“If granting amnesty a warlord will lead to the surrendering of many others, I will take that decision,” the minister said in reference to renowned Islamic cleric, Sheik Abubakar Gumi’s call that Fulani bandits should be treated like Niger-Delta militants.
IPOB in a statement its released, took apart the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying in part, “The Indigenous People of Biafra has noted with great amusement, a disgraceful statement credited to the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, that he supports amnesty for bandits.
“Lai Mohammed should be ashamed of himself for advocating amnesty for murderous bandits but justifying proscription for peaceful agitators.”
