Seun Oladapo, the armed robber, who killed human rights lawyer and social commentator, Kunle Fadipe, and the deceased’s mother-in-law, Madam Cecilia Owolabi, was on Friday sentenced to death by hanging.
Lawyer Fadipe died on July 4, 2014 in the hospital he was rushed to after Oladapo broke into his house at Harmony Estate Duplex, Fagba, Lagos, the previous day to rob.
The deceased was stabbed with knives by the convict when he was unable to raise N500,000 the armed burglar demanded for on the spot.
Fadipe’s mother-in-law, who was in the house, and was equally stabbed by the convicted armed robber died two weeks after the attack.
Handing down the judgement on Friday, Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of an Ikeja High Court found Oladapo guilty in all the five counts bordering on murder, armed robbery, assault, possession of dangerous weapons.
“I hereby find the defendant guilty of all the counts, as the prosecution has proved beyond doubt its case against the defendant.
“The knife with which the murder was carried out is one of the most vicious and dangerous looking knives I have ever seen,” the Judge said.
